Continuing from our previous welcome message, I want to introduce you to our second way of adding emoticons for MSN to your chats. There are a variety of ways, but this is certainly the most unique and flexible way of expressing your feelings and emotions through the power of inbuilt graphics! Enjoy!

Some background on emoticons for MSN

There is another way, of course, of installing and using emoticons and smileys in your MSN client. This feature was not introduced in the original installation of Messenger, but in subsequent revisions it became one of the most popular features. Why? Because it meant that the stranglehold over all of the image designs was wrestled from Microsoft and was placed firmly into the hands of the users of the software themselves. Suddenly thousands of emoticon and smiley makers and creators came to the service, and thousands of gifs and jpg files were posted onto websites and downloaded in packs so that users could use them in their conversations.

So where do you go if you want some of these smileys and emoticons for MSN? Originally, the zip files full of emotes were passed from user to user via MSN itself, but nowadays we use websites to find and download them. Here at this site, we will be identifying several sets of emoticons and providing them for you to download for free. We believe that since MSN itself has been installed and provided for free from Microsoft, so should the emotes and icons that you can use on a daily basis!

There are a a vast number of different styles and categories of images and pictures which we can use for smilies, and each one can show a different emotion or feeling to your colleague, friend or family member online. We will provide you with each set of emoticons so that you can further enhance your surfing experience, while enjoying the fun of sending pictures to your chat buddies. I won’t go into too much detail right now, but we plan different category titles such as sport, love, animal, amusing, funny, moods, cartoons and even adult emoticons for MSN! The list is almost endless.

This is just a brief introduction to the variety of images, emotes and smileys that we will be providing for you in the near future. For more information, why not sign up to our RSS feed or better still type your email address into the sidebar and we’ll let you know whenever our site is updated! We’ll provide you with more than enough emoticons for MSN!

Welcome to Emoticons for MSN, the best website you can find for emoticons, icons, emoticons and smileys to download and install on your chat client. There will be a wide range of styles and categories of image that you can get for free, so come back and check whenever you can and you’ll be very happy with your choice!

Windows live messenger or MSN is the world’s most popular chat client that you can download and use on the web. It has been available in various different guises for around 15 years, and it has slowly developed from a fairly basic communication tool into a fully fledged multimedia delivery system – which we now recognize on a daily basis.

Welcome to Emoticons for MSN!

One of the most powerful aspects of MSN is the ability to share your feelings and emotions using symbols and smileys. Emoticons for MSN were introduced right from the beginning, and were almost a revolution in themselves, replacing the ‘ascii’ emotes that people had been using chat rooms and on IRC before them.

When people started using MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger, they became addicted to the cartoon graphics and the cool emotes that they could now use. Every single chat client that has been released since has been influenced in some way by the original set of MSN emoticons (which themselves may well have been influenced by ICQ and other early technology chat systems). Nowadays it would be completely impossible to develop a chat program without thinking about integrating some sort of graphical user interface and communication pictures.

There are two ways in which you can access emoticons for MSN. The first and simplest is to use the emotions that are preinstalled in the software itself. You can use these representations by using different keystrokes or keypresses within the chat box. The simplest is the smiley face emoticon, or :) (colon, right bracket). Many millions of words have been written about this smiley face, so I will not go into too much detail right now, however I will say that we will be showing you how to access all of the integrated smilies within MSN in due course on this very website. If you need the basics, we will provide a detailed ‘how-to’ guide. If you’re a pro, you’ll be able to directly download packs of emoticons for MSN and install them like clockwork. Check our later posts for more information!
